The cotton fibre industry is one of the most important segments of the textile industry and it accounts for nearly 60% of the total domestic fibre consumption. India is the third largest producer of cotton fibre in the world after the US and China.
India Denim Limited (IDL), a subsidiary of Konark Synthetic Ltd., is a completely automated spinning unit that ensures production of finest quality yarn spun from the best available natural cotton. It is located at Ahmedabad, the capital of Gujarat. Spread across 25 acres of land, it has a installed capacity of 36000 spindles for ring spinning and 3 lines for open ended spinning. IDL is a state of the art plant that operates on advanced intentional technology and has an expansion plan to increase its capacity to 1,00,000 spindles in the near future.
